OneChampionship・・・東南アジアを中心とした興行を続けているMMA団体なんですけど・・・

いかにもマイナーな名前（東南アジアでは恐らくスター）ばかりなので、実態がつかめないじゃないですか。

MMAJunkieにインタビューが載ったので、リポートしてみたいとおもいます。

Oneの強みは軽量級

以下、OneChampionshipのCEOチャトリシットヨートン（Chatri Sityodtong）の発言を、MMAJunkieのまとめに乗っかってまとめてゆきます。

シットヨートン「まちがいなく（bar none）、いま世界で抜きんでているのは、UFCとONEだ。その内、重量級で優位（the edge）に立っているのが、UFCで、軽量級で優位に立っているのがONE」

As a lifelong martial artist, I can tell you that the two best rosters in the world are UFC and ONE, bar none. I would say that UFC has the edge in the heavier weight classes, and I’d say ONE has the edge in the lighter weight classes.

じゃあ、RIZINは眼中にないの？

間接的にですけど、RIZINは眼中にない、と言っています。

シットヨートン「唯一のライバル、UFCと交流戦と行うとしたら、ウチ（ONE）しかない。ウチこそ、アジアの全タレントを収容できるハコを提供するプロモーションだ。」

シットヨートン「これができるのは、ウチ（ONE）だけだ。（RIZINやBellatorなど）他団体では不可能。」

シットヨートン「チャンピオン vs. チャンピオンでもいい。ヘビー級から最軽量級（UFCだとフライ）まで、ベタっと。」

シットヨートン「男子 vs. 女子でもいいよ。おもしろいね。」

シットヨートン「大晦日にUFC vs. ONEなんて、世界中のみんなが見るだとう。」

シットヨートン「われわれ（ONE）は、いくつか勝ち、いくつか負ける。」

シットヨートン「ダナ（ホワイト）は、重量級では絶対負けないとおもっているだろうが、そうは行かない。」

シットヨートン「そこ（重量級）にもサプライズは、あり得る。考えただけでもドキドキする。」

“When you do a cross promotion, it has to make sense not only from a talent perspective, but also from a global relevance. We would bring all of Asia as Asia’s largest promotion.”

“I don’t think the other organizations are at that skill. They’re just not.”

“We would just do it champion vs. champion. ONE vs. UFC, heavyweight all the way down. Male and female. It would be epic. You can imagine a New Year’s Eve event and the whole world would watch. It would just be epic, and I’m sure we’d win some and we’d lose some. But I think it would be very fascinating for fans, and I’m highly, highly confident, especially lightweight and below, that we would dominate.

“And I’m sure Dana would be highly confident that his heavyweights and light heavyweights would dominate. I don’t think it’s a walk in the park by any means. I think there would be some incredible, incredible battles and some incredible finishes. That would be my dream.”
